Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG) Cebu chief Rico PAlcuto went to the office of District Collector Boysie Belmonte with Ombudsman Virginia Santiago to ask for copies of the manifests and related documents.
They also set office at the Cebu International Port (CIP). And Ely Baquero said they have a night vision telescope in place.

Car Smuggling is rampant in many countries.In the Philippines car smuggling can be manageable although we can notice some cases in some regions in the country especially in Manila and Cebu province.Car Smuggling is disadvanstageous to the government because the people involve in that illegal activity does not pay any taxes to the government.In case,that thesmuggled vehicle cannot be notice by the authorities the smuggler would sell the vehicle in a high price.THe authorities in our country especially the costums are very watchful in this illegal activity,that is why smuggled vehicle are intercepted by costums officials.Lastly,Car Smuggling should be minimized.In order to dothat our government authorities should always be watchful and link to other officials and private individuals that have any ideas about car smugglers.To decrease the car smuggling in the government.

Car smuggling all over the country is not a “piece of cake” that is so easy to slice because smugglers are protected by prominent persons in authority as I always heard in news broadcast. Smuggling has become a business using those people who are poor but brave enough to such thing as influenced by the people in authority.

I am glad that some congressmen are taking some kind of action to stop car smuggling. However, the issue is quite complicated because the all out campaign has also dampened legitimate importations.
